Brandon Mayes

Brandon Mayes was born November  22nd,1988 and raised in Los Angeles,California. He is an artist of incredible versatility, playing various genres like Latin, Pop, Rock, Jazz and Classical. No matter what style he plays, he always brings a strong depth of spirituality and feel to the music. He has performed on stages regularly since the young age of 12 and also has had the opportunity of sharing his musical talents on several recordings, films and video games. In the past, he has performed with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Carlos Santana, Soulja-Boy, The Wailers,Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and Eric Krasno Band. Currently, he resides in Boston where he teaches privately, and works at multiple schools and colleges, while still performing with the groups Coolidge Road, Nancy Wilson, The Gravel Project, Dub Apocalypse, Freelance, and WTF at Wally’s.

One of Brandon’s proudest accomplishments has been the founding of a Percussion Ensemble/ Music Non-Profit Program for low-income students at St. Stephens Elementary School in Lynn, Massachusetts. He is a firm believer that Music Education changes lives, after all, it changed his. If it were not for his early introduction to music, and great music teachers like Peter Erskine, Ndugu Chancler, Terri lyne Carrington, Karl Perazzo, he would not be the well rounded musician he is today.
